Due to the fact that I will not be at Allegheny College past Spring 2008, I am unable to take on new advisees.

Letters of Recommendation
Under most circumstances I am happy to write letters of recommendation for students who have been in at least one class with me or worked with me in the lab or other situation in which I can get to know you well enough to write a sensible letter. If you would like me to write a letter for you, I would really appreciate it if you could do the following things to help me.
Give me at least two weeks’ notice before the application is due - a well-crafted letter will take some time.
Provide some information about the program(s) you’re applying to - a website URL is sufficient.
If I don’t see you every day and therefore know you extremely well, please give me a copy of your resume and possibly a short paragraph or so explaining why you’re interested in the particular sort of program you’re applying for.
Provide the addresses (or fill out the request for electronic forms) so that I know where to send the letters. You do not need to provide envelopes or stamps - I have sufficient College stationery.
